Chance to learn about opportunities and support at annual Health and Wellbeing Fayre
By Matthew Hancock-Bruce 12th Mar 2026
The ninth annual Community Health and Wellbeing Fayre takes place next week.
Organised by Congleton Partnership, the free event aims to help people improve their health, manage stress and connect with local services that support wellbeing.
With more than 40 exhibitors booked to attend, visitors will be able to access information, advice and support covering mental health, physical fitness, nutrition, ageing well and community activities.
Deputy Town Mayor, councillor Suzy Firkin, who chairs the Congleton Partnership Senior Forum and will be attending the event, said: "Events like the Health and Wellbeing Fayre are incredibly important because they bring together so many organisations in one place.
"It makes it easier for people to discover the support available locally, whether they're looking for health advice, social activities or help for themselves or a loved one.
"I encourage residents to come along, have a chat with the exhibitors and see what opportunities and support are available in our community."
The Community Health and Wellbeing Fayre takes place on Tuesday, March 17, from 10am to 2pm at Congleton Town Hall.
Visitors will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from a wide range of local organisations including Cheshire East Council – Home from Hospital, East Cheshire NHS Trust, Age UK Cheshire, Space4Autism, Visyon, Change Grow Live, One You Cheshire East, Congleton Lions, Plus Dane Housing, and Bromley Farm Community Development Trust, along with many other community groups and support services.
In addition to advice and information stands, attendees will be able to take part in a powerful virtual dementia experience hosted by Congleton Lions.
Using a specialist headset, the immersive experience helps people understand what it can feel like to live with dementia and the daily challenges people may face.
There will also be opportunities to learn more about mobility and maintaining independence.
Ability Support & Education will be offering free five-minute mobility tests, along with demonstrations of specialised mobility equipment and advice for people concerned about their own mobility or the risk of falls for family members.
