Congleton Woman Raises thousands for Macmillan, in Tennis Club ceremony

A Congleton woman raised close to £2000 for a cancer charity, in an epic 26-mile walk.

Congleton Lawn Tennis Clubs social tennis group 'The Wimbledon Hopefuls' staged a celebration on bank holiday Monday 30th to recognise the efforts of Nicole Buckley who walked the Mighty Hike marathon in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and raised over £1500.

Nicole decided to the complete the walk in remembrance of three friends who included the clubs late secretary Marion Doe who taught Nicole perseverance.

The group had a lovely afternoon organised which was organised by Sav McAsey and all congratulated Nicole on her heroic fundraising efforts.

Nicole said: I am walked The Might Hike (26.2 miles) to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

"My inspiration for this were friends who INicole's current total is £1564.

"Bob, who taught me determination. Marion, who taught me perseverance. And Joseph, who taught me fortitude.

"Marion, [who was a member of the club] made a huge difference to many peoples lives and her generosity to all members of the club was something I had personal experience of."
