Local composer Jack Mitchell Smith will bring new music to our town this spring, featuring residents from Congleton and Macclesfield on the album.

Head Over Heels will see the culmination of four years of work, as Jack's musical album will finally made available to the general public.

An eclectic mix of genres, the album has been a labour of love for Jack since he first came up with the concept in 2018.

Talking from his recording studio Jack spoke glowingly of the new project.

"Head Over Heels represents everything regarding my outlook in life which is that, no matter how bad things may seem, there is room for optimism, hope and positivity," he said.

"I always intended this to be the predominant emotion for the listener."

The feelgood nature of Jack's music is evident from the opening track right through to the closing number, I'll Be There.

"I want the listener to be taken on a journey and to meet these colourful characters that have been given a vibrant heartbeat by the talented cast.

"Whether the mischievous Mister Illusion or the niggling voice of doubt in your mind, the interpretation of these figures by the singers has surpassed all my expectations."

To bring his words and music to life, Jack has searched the suburbs of Congleton and Macclesfield to find the very cream of local talent.

"These fantastic artists have poured their hearts and souls into their performances and their emotional connection to the songs is evident. The support from the cast has been quite overwhelming and I cannot wait for the results of my songs mixed with their interpretations to be shared with a wider audience'.

You can get tickets via Jack's production company, which he co-founded with Congleton resident Lesley Creasser Guymer.

While there will be no concert in Congleton, there will be a launch gig in neighbouring Macclesfield, with some of the Congleton performers on the project attending.

West Kingston Productions and the Macclesfield Amateur Dramatics Society are delighted to be bringing together a sneak preview of songs from the album ahead of its official release date at MADS Theatre, Lord Street.

The two-and-a-half hour release event will take place on Saturday April 9 at 7:30pm.

This evening will offer a unique opportunity to meet the stars, hear the music and maybe even have a drink with the composer himself.

The audience will also be able to purchase a signed copy of the album at a discounted rate ahead of the public release on April 22.

Tickets cost £10 and can be also purchased on this this link
