Fans of YAMAHIYA, a Japanese fusion foodie business that was located in Capital Walk will be delighted to learn that the family business is now operating out of Congleton Town Hall on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Congleton Town Council approved the decision at its Council meeting on Thursday 4th April to allow Mark's Events to pilot sub-letting the space at the front of the Town Hall on a three-month trial.

Chief Officer, David McGifford said: "A few weeks ago Cllr Suzy Firkin, the Town Council's commercial partner Mark Bailey and myself met with a number of the businesses that had been forced to close down due to the ongoing issues at Capital Walk. Mark and the team at Yamahiya went on to discuss working more closely together.

"Congleton Town Councillors approved a change to the leasing agreement to allow a trial sublet and look forward to welcoming Yamahiya to the Town Hall. Our insurance company advised that these partnership arrangements are becoming more common as businesses adapt to survive in the hard-pressed hospitality industry. This trial is initially for three months, and we very much hope it proves a success for all."

Yamahiya will open from 9.30am – 9pm on Thursdays- Saturdays serving breakfast, lunch and evening meals in Bluey's in the Town Hall.

There will be some dates when they will close early due to events in the Town Hall.

Mark's Events will open 9.30am – 3.30pm on Monday – Wednesday serving a big breakfast, a selection of hot and cold drinks, cakes and lunches.

Bluey's is fully licensed, and patrons can purchase a drink without food.

Bluey's welcomes well-behaved pets, has a disability-friendly toilet and is a breast-feeding friendly environment. The food and friendship club will continue on a Monday and Wednesday from 11.30 – 1.30pm.
