Congleton Park's much-loved cafe bar to close as owners decide to take a step back

The café bar at Congleton Park is to close.
Stock at the Pavilion has confirmed it will shut next month, due in part to the economic challenges facing the hospitality industry.
With a tendering process due, Emma Gough, who handles Stock's communications and marketing, is hopeful the successful bidder will build on the legacy they have made over the past 15 years.
She said: "After many challenging tender processes over the years, and with another due, we feel it is now time to step back and take time for ourselves.
"We have built up an amazing legacy for someone else to go forward with, the Pavilion and park are now firmly on the map, and we wish it all the success going forward.
"It is time for me and the team to take a well-earned rest.
"We will always treasure every moment we have had, building genuine friendships and connections."
Emma added: "Our journey has been filled with so many memorable moments and achievements, reflecting our wonderful connection with the community.
"We have had the pleasure of being a part of hundreds of family's special occasions and events, sharing in their joy, their milestones and being by their side in times of grief."

Flashback to 2005, the Pavilion had fallen into a state of disrepair, with the park attracting very few visitors.
Fortunately, a lottery grant helped to fund the building's renovation and revitalisation.
Then, in 2010, up stepped Congleton born-and-bred Lisa Whitehurst who approached Cheshire East Council with her vision for Stock.
With her parents having married at the Pavilion, she felt a personal connection to the building and wanted to bring it back to life.
The venue quickly became known for its quirky décor, exceptional food, and welcoming atmosphere.
Stock at the Pavilion would go on to win numerous awards and could nearly always be found near the top of TripAdvisor's rankings.
At one point, there was even a three-week waiting list for the Sunday Roast.
"Lisa led from the front, being a working owner and was the face of the Pavilion for the whole 15 years, managing the floor, greeting guests at the door, making their drinks and sometimes when needed even their food, and ensuring that every aspect of the business met the highest standards for customer experience," Emma said.
"Every team member, both past and present, contributed to creating an environment designed to make people feel welcome."
She continued: "Over the past 15 years, we have faced challenges as all businesses do.
"The impact of Covid-19 was significant, but we managed to navigate through it, staying open on the terrace just so people could come and get a hot drink and chat to someone."

On Monday, February 17, Stock at the Pavilion announced it will close for good after service on Sunday, March 16.
Since then, hundreds of people have flocked to social media to share their memories and to thank Lisa and Emma for what they have created.
Emma said: "The responses to the closure have been so appreciated, it shows how much people loved that personal touch.
"Lisa aimed to create a welcoming atmosphere, and it appears this goal was achieved.
"We want to invite everyone to visit us before we close our doors, to share stories, say goodbye, and allow us the opportunity to personally thank you.
"Your presence has meant the world to us, without you none of it would have been possible and we would love to see you one last time.
"Thank you for being a part of our wonderful journey."
