A Congleton convenience store has a fresh new look.

Co-op on Bromley Road is welcoming customers once again, having been shut for the past five weeks.

During this closure, a number of improvements were made to the community store to create a more spacious layout for customers.

Store manager Hayley Carr said: "The whole team is delighted to invest in Congleton and relaunch Co-op's Bromley Road store.

"We have had a great response.

"It has a fresh and more spacious new look, with a range of added services including parcel collections, payment services and online home delivery.

"We pride ourselves on being able to deliver the quality, choice and value which can be enjoyed by everyone, and we are enjoying welcoming our members and customers back into their local Co-op.

"We're here to contribute to local life and conveniently serve and support Congleton."

The Bromley Road store reopened on Friday, May 30.

New refrigeration supports Co-op's work to cut its carbon footprint as well as allowing them to increase their range of fresh, chilled produce.

Speaking of the environment, the store now has soft plastic recycling, enabling shoppers to return and recycle materials such as crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals, biscuit wrappers and pet food pouches.

On top of this, the shop acts as a 'fulfilment hub' for online grocery deliveries through Co-op's own online shop as well as Uber Eats and Deliveroo.

Parcel collection and returns are also available through Amazon and InPost Lockers and DPD.

Meanwhile, an ATM provides access to cash in the community, and payment services are available via PayPoint.

The store opens between 7am and 10pm each day.
