Congleton's inaugural 'Board Games For Mental Health' afternoon was held on the 28th of August at the United Reformed Church in Congleton and was a resounding success.

Located on The Moorings, the event welcomed Congleton residents from all walks of life to play beloved family board games.

Strategy games chess and Aqualin were favourites, in the event designed to boost emotional wellness, which has taken a hampering after a year-and-a-half of lockdown.

Kosmos Games UK sponsored the event with their kind donation of a copy of their game Aqualin.

The second Board Games For Mental Health event will be held at the same venue on the 25th of September at 2pm till 4pm.

It is hoped it will be a permanent event in the church located at 16 The Moorings.
