Art and music to transform Congleton in latest free Summer Play Day for children

Congleton will come alive with the sound of music.
The town council's Summer Play Days initiative is in full swing, with dozens of families having already enjoyed a selection of sports and nature-themed activities.
Next up is a music and arts-themed play day on Tuesday, August 12.
From 10.30am to 2.30pm, visitors to the pedestrianised area of Congleton can try their hand at drumming workshops, enjoy interactive games provided by Everybody Leisure, and listen to live storytelling sessions from Congleton Library.
Creative stations will be available for children to explore and express their artistic talents.
Best of all the event is free and open to everyone, with no booking required.
Rachel McCarthy, town centre and events officer at Congleton Town Council, said: "We're so excited to bring back these themed play days right to the heart of Congleton.
"They're designed to get kids active, creative, and engaged—without any cost to families.
"The activities are varied and inclusive, and there's no need to book—just turn up and join the fun!"

The final Summer Play Days event will be on Tuesday, August 19.
The grand finale will involve games and challenges with Everybody Leisure, lively dance workshops, circus skills fun, creative arts and crafts stalls, and storytelling by Congleton Library.
