Patients, staff and visitors will be required to wear a face covering at the Congleton War Memorial Hospital from Monday (15 June) onwards following new NHS guidance.

As well as the hospital, the measures will take effect in all sites run by the East Cheshire NHS Trust across the community.

A spokesperson for the Trust said: ". If you are visiting us for an appointment please ensure you wear a face covering to protect you and your family from the spread of Covid -19."

For those who may not have a covering available upon arrival, the Trust said a mask or covering will be provided.

The Trust said that "safety is our priority" and the announcement comes as people will also be required to wear face coverings when using public transport.
