A new café specialising in different blends of coffee opened its doors to the Congleton community yesterday.

The Cotton Club Coffee-Bar located on the left-hand side of the town hall has been trading as The Cotton Club for the last five years where private events and dining nights have been regularly held.

However, they have now extended their repertoire with the coffee bar, which is open from Monday to Saturday.

The Cotton Club's full-time project leader and former Reubens employee Marcus Beech, (25), has worked alongside Joe Kanauros, (32), on and off for the last five years, and they started working on the idea of opening a coffee bar at the town hall six months ago.

Mr Kanauros, who co-owns the Congleton, Biddulph and Whitchurch Reubens sites with his family said: "We were desperate to utilise the space, which wasn't being used regularly and we were looking for opportunities.

"It's a really good fit with the space."

The coffee bars sister restaurant Reubens, located on Lawton Street, will be helping with staffing.

Mr Kanauros, who will be overseeing and aiding in the background at The Cotton Club Coffee-Bar told Congleton Nub News that their unique selling point was the five different blends of coffee available to customers to go alongside their five different grinders.

Mr Kanauros added: "We have five different grinders, a lot of places do coffee, but we want to cater to everyone and provide an experience.

"When I want to go for a beer, I don't go to somewhere that only has one option, I go to somewhere that has 10 different options."

The coffee bar will have a different brand of coffee available every week.

There is also the option of iced coffee as well as a selection of iced teas (£2.25) and fruit smoothies (£3.50).

Speaking after Wednesday's opening, Mr Kanaurous said: "Really positive first day, it has been really busy and the overall response from the community was that they get full value for what they pay for."

The food menu includes an array of paninis at £5, a soup of the day option at £4 and two toastie options for children.

For those early risers there's a £5 breakfast deal, which includes a coffee and bagel, available from 8.30am to 10.30am.

Don't miss out on the coffee and cake deal for £4.50. The cake options will be changed on a regular basis.

Make sure you grab one of the coffee bars loyalty cards and collect those stamps to earn a free coffee.

The new coffee bar also offers vegan, veggie and gluten free options.

Opening hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm and Saturday's 9am to 5pm.

Once a month on a Friday night from 7.30pm, dining club will be held where the cuisine will be specialised around a certain country, for example that could be Mexican, Italian, Greek or Indian.

For £40 per person, there will be a selection of three to six courses of delicious food and drink provided. There are only 35 spaces available so if you are interested get in touch fast.

If that isn't enough to get your juices flowing, next month will see the launch of a brand-new Saturday night, which will be drink orientated with a wealth of music genres at your disposal.

The location is also available for private hire.

To hire the coffee bar as a venue or to book yourself onto one of their upcoming events visit The Cotton Club Coffee-Bar Facebook page and send them a message or call 01260 400 700.
