Catch potential health issues in your pets early by scheduling in an annual checkup.

Congleton Veterinary Centre is encouraging cat and dog owners to book in a wellness screening.

These comprehensive medical checks can help detect hidden health issues before they become serious.

Clinical director Struan Henderson said: "Wellness screening is important because it's an opportunity to detect early disease changes before clinical signs develop, which is often not the case until diseases are at a more advanced stage.

"And so, identifying diseases sooner allows us to act faster and hopefully delay progression, which in turns helps maintain or indeed improve the quality of life and lifespan for the pets that we treat.

"This is much more rewarding than the alternative of dealing with diseases at an advanced stage, when treatment options are often limited.

"We want to provide our patients with the best care, and wellness screening are a key part of this as dogs and cats enter their golden years."

The appointment includes urine and blood tests, weight and joints checks and a teeth and gums inspection.

The team at Congleton Veterinary Centre will also exam your pet's eyes, ears, skins and coat aas well as carry out a joint and mobility assessment.

They will also review parasite protection, check vaccination status and offer advice on nutrition and preventative care as well as booster recommendations.
