Meet the man who keeps our town's economy going, by fixing IT problems for the biggest companies in Congleton.

Ben Wilson (32), only founded his company last year, and has already taken the business from his home to a unit near the centre of Congleton.

The Tech Division are just a short drive from the town centre, having taken over a unit on Greenfield Farm Industrial Estate, which used to be a Congleton architects.

Their services span from hardware and software IT problems, to getting gaming PCs for kids.

The secret to their rapid rise is a free quote for any IT issue or enquiry, and having served almost every sector in Congleton.

"It was word of mouth which quickly helped us spread around Congleton," Ben said.

"We've got a wide range of clients from kitchen showrooms, TV stations, to HGV repair garages - of which you can imagine has been very busy of late.

"We serve the biggest Congleton businesses to self-employed companies of just one or two people.

"We would generally tend to diagnose and solve tech problems within the day, but that depends on whether we have to order parts."

Ben worked as Head of IT for a Macclesfield motorbike company for five years, but just before the pandemic he decided to go it alone.

His solo venture was founded in February 2020, but quickly became a remote service to clients from Congleton working throughout lockdown.

Ben likes to spend his downtime walking up The Cloud from Congleton's Timbersbrook Car Park on Weathercock Lane.

He regularly treks there with his wife and business partner Sarah, who he co-founded The Tech Division with.

"My favourite thing about Congleton is the people," added Ben.

"I've got so many customers around here that I get on with on a first name basis, they're such a great crowd.

"It helps that Congleton is a perfect size, it is not too big and busy, but it is not too quiet.

"The local business community has been really supportive, particularly considering we started working when most began to work from home.

"I'd like to grow to employ some more staff, bring some more jobs into Congleton and support more local businesses."

If they can't fix your computer, printer, or laptop, they won't charge you for their time.

As a new company, Ben wants to build a reputation on corporate social responsibility, by being as friendly to the environment with his business as possible.

"We don't try to push people into buying new items, we try and keep things going," concluded Ben.

"I am quite an eco person, I drive a zero emission electric car. So I like to reuse in business, and I'm passionate about keeping people's machines going.

"We can part-exchange parts as well, and we have about 70 refurbished laptops in stock that we can give people a year warranty on."

They've served hundreds of Congleton PC and Mac users, and are hoping to be the number one IT repair in Congleton.

Feel free to call and pop in to their new office next to the Royal Mail sorting office, to help fix your faulty tech and get you back to work as soon as possible.
