In Pictures: VE Day from Neighbours in Congleton

Yesterday marked the 75th anniversary of VE day and despite the current lockdown restrictions, Congleton found a way to mark the occasion.
Around the town, neighbours came together to host socially distanced street parties and bask in the wonderful weather.
Scones, tea and other traditional delicacies were in abundance as the sun beat down.
Bunting was hung from houses, posters and decorations were strung up in windows and the community came out in force to join in with the celebrations.

Numerous streets were treated to music from DJ Andy Hulme on Vaudry Crescent and Morrison's employee Susan Maydew sang Vera Lynn's We'll Meet Again to everyone in the store, wearing union jack bunting and flags.
Earlier in the morning staff from Congleton Town Council met with Simon Bailey from Vanilla All Seasons to deliver 80 chilled meals alongside New Life Church.
The meals prepared by Vanilla All Seasons were delivered to people who would have been attending special luncheon club events with United Reformed Church and St John's Community Centre.
