The founder of a Congleton charity has called on the community to "keep calm and work together" after two bottles of hand sanitiser were stolen from their centre as the coronavirus outbreak continues to sweep across the country.

Alison Parr, founder of Ruby's Fund in Congleton, told Congleton Nub News that she understands why people are concerned and worried about Covid-19, but she wants residents to look out for one and other rather than just themselves.

The bottles were taken from the centre's toilets earlier today.

Alison told Congleton Nub News: "We are all in this together, so let's help get each other through this by showing support and helping where we can.

"It's clear that whoever has done this has had a real moment of desperation and felt the need to get some hand sanitiser by any means necessary.

"But we have to stay calm, work together and take on board the advice that has been passed on by the experts."

Alison confirmed that the centre had already ordered more wall mounted dispensers as a result of the incident.

Ruby's Fund runs a sensory centre for children and young people with additional needs, their families and carers.
