Join us for this two hour workshop needle felting a miniature 2D landscape image onto prefelt fabric then turning it into a beautiful card, brooch or framed piece.

A flower meadow, a field of spring lambs, a view of a local landmark - what will you make?!

Needle felting involves using specialised barbed needles to interlock wool fibres and sculpt them into beautiful designs.

It's a meticulous and therapeutic process that requires both skill and imagination.

Vicky from Needlessly Felted, who is affiliated with the International Feltmakers Association, will take you through the whole process of creating a beautiful needle felted brooch or gift card. Vicky will also dedicate a bit of time to exploring the range of materials available and their properties with examples to touch and explore.

You will come home with a complete item and the skills to make lots more.

Examples and guidance on suggested design - welcome to bring an image to work from.

Equipment provided:

• Felting pad
• Needles/holders
• Finger cots (protection from spikes!)
• Wool - so much wool! Merino, corriedale, teeswater, blue faced leicester, bergschaf, shetland, sari silk, alpaca.......and lots more to try.
• Embroidery threads
• Prefelt fabric in a variety of colours
• Glue for mounting/backing
• Brooch backs
• Kraft cards/envelopes

Option to purchase a small kit if you'd like.

These work beautifully into commercially available box frames - we can check measurements and make sure your piece fits!

About Vicky at Needlessly Felted 

Vicky is a talented and passionate felting artist from Congleton, Cheshire. Through felting, she has found a medium that allows her to translate her ideas and inspirations into tangible works of art.

Her creations range from tiny needle felted and embroidered pieces of jewellery, through colourful sea creatures and Waldorf dolls, to large scale art pieces. Each piece reflects her love of colour, attention to detail and dedication to perfecting her craft.
