Young engineers at Congleton's Siemens have become part of manufacturing history after playing a major role in the record-breaking ventilator challenge.
A team of 100 people from Siemens UK, Digital Industries (DI), Industry Software, Siemens Healthineers and Siemens Energy - enabled the Ventilator Challenge UK consortium to achieve its target of producing 13,500 medical devices in just 12 weeks.

A group of travellers who arrived in Congleton on Saturday morning have been served with a notice, which requires them to leave by 5pm today (Tuesday).
A Cheshire East Council spokesperson told Nub News: "A member of the Cheshire and Warrington Gypsy and Traveller Liaison team has visited the group camped on land near the Congleton Leisure Centre and a welfare check has been carried out.

Award-winning Congleton-based children's author Nick Jones has secured his target of £3,500 to finance his second children's picture book, One Night in Beartown, with two days to spare.
The Kickstarter campaign ended on £4,040, exceeding the author's expectations by over £500. And the money is still rolling in.

A team of firefighters from Congleton who climbed the height of Olympus Mons have raised more than £1,000 for charity.
The 12 firefighters embarked on the endurance trek up and down Bosley Cloud with the aim to cover the same height of the highest mountain in the solar system, Olympus Mons on Tuesday 14 July.

Friends for Leisure, the local charity supporting disabled children and young people, had lots of plans this year to celebrate its 25th anniversary, but lockdown sadly put a stop to that.
However the charity has said that enthusiasm would "not be dampened".

A new multi-academy trust will form next term from two local and successful trusts - Congleton Multi-Academy Trust and Knutsford Multi-Academy Trust.
It follows a consultation with parents, governing bodies and staff. The new trust will be known as The Learning Alliance.
