From October 10 to 23, lots of independent businesses and shops will be offering special deals costing just a fiver. It is to encourage footfall on the High Street and give local traders a boost in these challenging times.

Gas Engine Lift

Aberla Utilities, part of the Aberla Group, has been contracted by Siemens to design and install a containerised 500kWe Gas Engine at their manufacturing site in Congleton.

The project will help reduce grid dependency by enabling flexible and efficient energy to power Siemens' day-to-day operations.

With the South and Mid Cheshire Tennis League not taking place this summer due to the COVID-19 restrictions, Congleton LTC staged an internal summer doubles competition to fill the gap for its members.

Replicating the successful winter doubles ladders, players took to the court from July to September in box leagues with promotion and relegation each month.

A councillor wants further signage provided by Cheshire East Highways on two Congleton main roads to ensure motorists are sufficiently made aware of the 30mph speed limits and there is no "misconception".

Cheshire Police inspector Kelly Johnston attended last Thursday's Congleton Town Council meeting of Community and Environment Committee to give councillors a verbal report on policing matters affecting Congleton.
