Today (14 October) saw the staging of Congleton Lawn Tennis Club's rearranged 2020 Town Mayors Tournament which was held under the floodlights.

The event was an American tournament played in round robin groups followed by semi finals and a final.

In the first semi-final Nick Wilkins and Louise Fenn defeated Rob McNinch and Kim Bennett, whilst in the second last four match Ian Parsons and Anne Moore defeated David King and Kathy Taylor.

In a close final Nick and Louise emerged victorious taking home the trophy and the prize vouchers courtesy of sponsors Hightown Fish and Chips.

The event raised £100 and a cheque will be presented to Congleton Town Mayor, Sally-Ann Holland at a later date.
