Twenty-four club members braved the cold temperatures on Wednesday (7th April) to take part in Congleton Lawn Tennis Club's first tournament of the 2021/22 season - the Spring Fun Tournament.

Played as a timed tournament over five rounds the tennis was of a good quality and played in a friendly, competitive manner as members tried to reach the knockout stages.

In the first semi-final, Helen Dyson and Lawrence Poulain defeated Lynn Boyes and Luke Coltman.

In the second semi-final, Louise Fenn and Kieron Beeston defeated Ian Graham and Vicky Garner.

In the final Louise and Kieron emerged narrow winners and claimed the prize vouchers courtesy of sponsors Radchester's Garden Ornaments.

New chair Rob McNinch presented the prizes and thanked the sponsors for their generosity, all of the players for taking part and also Kerry Hall for providing cupcakes for the competitors.
