Congleton Town crashed out of the FA Cup at the preliminary round stage after losing 2-1 against Skelmersdale United.

In a clash between two North West Counties sides, the Bears took the lead in front of their own fans on the half hour mark thanks to Arron Johns.

However, goals from Emini Adenbegro on 39 minutes and Daniel Murphy on 79 minutes put Skem through to the next round.

The Bears focus will now turn to preparing for their opening Premier Division clash against Squires Gate at Cheshire's Silk 106.9 Stadium (3pm kick off) on Saturday 3rd October.
