Craig Leese, the co owner of Smash Tennis UK is the new Head Coach at Congleton Lawn Tennis Club

Craig has been playing tennis since the age of 5, a scary 27 years ago and first picked up a racket down at Kidsgrove sports centre and then began his junior tennis locally at Alsager Tennis Club.

Craig has represented Staffordshire through all the junior age groups, and was crowned county champion numerous times.

Since the age of 16 he has represented Staffordshire men's team, and has had the pleasure of being the county captain since 2012.

He started coaching at the age of 18 and has had the pleasure of coaching numerous players who have gone on to represent their county, as well as a number of world ranked juniors.

Two years ago Craig teamed up with his business partner to form "Smash Tennis UK" and they are now the coaching provider at 5 different tennis clubs. As of January 2020 they took on the coaching programme at Congleton and this is now the main club that Craig coaches at

The Club is looking forward to working with Craig and helping him build a thriving junior programme at the club as well as introducing players of all ages and abilities into the sport.
