Congleton football team founded less than two years ago prepares for first final

A local football team are urging the community to get behind them ahead of their first-ever cup final.
Congleton Vale FC are gearing up to take on Cresswell Wanderers in the Macron Trophy final this Saturday, May 16.
The huge clash, held at Community Drive in Smallthorne, comes less than two years after the club was set up.
Founder and current first team manager Ben Candlin said: "We are absolutely buzzing, but focused.
"Cresswell Wanderers were founded in 1979. We haven't even celebrated our 2nd birthday yet!
"That sums up what this club has achieved this season.
"The lads have been incredible and we just want as many local fans as possible to come and get behind us on the day."
Congleton Vale FC was formed just shy of two years ago as a way of providing a pathway from Vale Juniors FC into adult grassroots football.
Vale Juniors is one of the largest junior clubs in the area with over 30 teams from Under 7s through to Under 18s.
Ben added: "The idea was simple - give those young players somewhere to go when they aged out of junior football."

This season, the team competed in the Staffordshire County Senior League Division 2 North.
They have not lost a league game since October, with 11 wins and one draw.
Meanwhile, they have beaten four teams from the division above to reach the final of the Macron Trophy.
Route to the final
- Round 1 — 3-3 draw with Stafford Town. Won 6-5 on penalties
- Round 2 — 3-1 win over Hanley Town Reserves
- Quarter Final — 5-1 win over Keele University 1st Team
- Semi Final — 1-1 draw with Ashbourne Reserves. Won 4-3 on penalties
The final kicks off at 11.30am on Saturday, May 16, at Community drive in Smallthorne, ST6 1QF.
Tickets are priced at £5 for adults and £3 for concessions, with under 16s going free with a paying adult.
