By Matthew Hancock-Bruce 4th Jun 2026
The 2026 World Cup is almost upon us!
With the tournament taking place across the US, Canada and Mexico, games will be played throughout the evening and late into the night.
Unless you're splashing out on a trip across the pond, you'll probably be looking for somewhere to watch the action unfold here in Congleton.
With that in mind, we've put together a guide to some of the best pubs and bars showing the football this summer.
The Antelope
The Antelope has been decorated head-to-toe in World Cup bunting and England flags.
To keep things interesting, the Lawton Street pub is running a World Cup Sweepstakes.
You can either enter the £5 blind draw, with four prizes up for grabs, or go for the £10 blind draw where the winner takes it all.
To get involved, just ask at the bar.
Congleton Market Quarter
Congleton Market Quarter will be hosting live music ahead of England's group stage games.
A spokesperson for the CMQ has said "We're pulling out all the stops to create the ultimate destination for the games this summer.
"With massive screens in every corner of our venue plus live music to kick off the England matches, you can grab food and drink from our vendors, find a screen, and enjoy an unmatched atmosphere."
R&G's Tap House have a range of World Cup cocktails on offer, all inspired by different nations taking part.
The Prince of Wales
This Lawton Street pub will be showing the games on outdoor TVs as well as a giant projector screen inside.
Fans can get into the World Cup spirit with four pint pitchers of 'green monkey'.
On top of that, they will be offering free food for all of the Three Lions' matches.
