Congleton: It is the final weekend before Halloween, and there are lots of autumnal events on in our town.

So we thought we would round-up our top three events going on in Congleton this weekend.

Here are three excellent Congleton events coming this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, for the date commencing 22 October.

  1. Brereton Heath LNR Halloween Trail

The kids can try out their Halloween costumes early, with this weekend launch of this Halloween nature walk in Congleton.

The Brereton Heath Local Nature Reserve will open a trail celebrating all things scary from October 23 right up until November 7.

But the trail is expected to be busier at the end of the month, with Halloween falling on a weekend this year.

So why not be one of the first in our town to see a unique temporary attraction which is fun for all the family?

Spooky guests will be wandering the trail, which will make great half-term fun for the kids to find.

The event doubles up as a celebration of the season, as well as allowing your little ones to connect with and learn the value of nature.

The CW12 wildlife children's-horror experience opens at 9am on Saturday, and will be open until 4pm daily.

So if you can't make Saturday, there's always Sunday or indeed Halloween weekend.

But why not be one of the first to see this unique seasonal experience made for Congleton, by Congleton? It is FREE after all...

  1. Charity Rock Disco

Another Congleton event that won't cost you a penny, is a charity rock disco at a Buxton Road pub.

The Church House inn will be playing some of the greatest rock and roll tracks, as well as hosting a barbequeue and charity raffle.

It is all in memory of the late Mick Landon, of Bear Town Bikers.

Money will be raised for animal charity PDSA.

With this one set to be an epic and long night from seven until 12, you can even camp nearby.

This will cost £12.50 to camp. Bear Town Bikers meet every Wednesday at this pub, hence the hosting of this in memoriam fundraiser.

This event was nubbed to the Congleton Nub News What's On section, and you can read more about it here.

  1. Stillwater

One for families with older children, a Matt Damon film is the latest blockbuster to be screened at the Daneside Theatre.

Stillwater follows Bill, an American roughneck who travels to France to visit his estranged daughter, in prison for a murder she claims she did not commit.

Confronted with language barriers, cultural differences, and a complicated legal system, Bill builds a new life for himself in France as he makes it his personal mission to get his child out of jail

The 2021 film also stars 25-year-old Abigail Breslin, of Zombieland fame.

Tickets are a fiver-per-person available from Congleton Information Centre on High Street, or call 01260 270350.
