Volunteers catch 104 motorists speeding in Congleton

More than 100 motorists were caught speeding in Congleton by Community Speed Watch groups.

PSCO Ben Hooper of the Congleton Police team revealed that members of the voluntary speed watch groups had recorded a total of 104 drivers breaking the speed limit.

The groups consist of residents teaming up with officers.

The offending motorists were caught speeding on Newcastle Road and Manchester Road.

A total of 104 warning letters are being sent to motorists who were captured by the Speed Watch team - with 21 of those living in Congleton.
