Update on construction of hospital's new £5 million diagnostic centre

Work on a hospital's new £5 million diagnostic centre continues.
East Cheshire NHS Trust has provided an update on the Community Diagnostic Centre being built at Congleton War Memorial Hospital.
Following the installation of several modular buildings at the site last week, it is now time for the internal fitting of the CDC, which is set to be completed by October this year.
A spokesperson for the trust said: "The new facility will be designed to provide a range of diagnostic tests and services closer to home and will significantly enhance local healthcare services by reducing waiting times and improving early detection of various health conditions.
"The same dedicated staff from both Macclesfield and Congleton hospitals will also continue to provide exceptional care, ensuring a seamless and familiar experience for patients."

Congleton War Memorial Hospital celebrated 100 years of service in 2024, having originally opening in 1924 as memorial to the local people who were killed in the First World War.
The new CDC will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology, creating a 'one-stop shop' for essential diagnostic tests, allowing patients to access multiple tests in a single visit.
It will offer a range of services, including non-obstetric ultrasound, ophthalmology tests, and cardiorespiratory diagnostics.
The trust spokesperson added: "The development of the new CDC at this historic site will ensure that the hospital remains a pivotal part of the community for generations to come.
"East Cheshire NHS Trust would like to say a huge thank you to colleagues at Congleton for their patience in dealing with the ongoing works."
