A new micropub has become the biggest stockist of Congleton's Beartown Brewery in Macclesfield.

The Earl of Mercia, located on Church Street in Macclesfield, is a top-of-the-range tap house which spans two floors.

They are the latest company to stock the Congleton Spindle Street brewer.

They have only just opened, but have already sold the highest range of Beartown products than any bar in Congleton's neighbouring town of Macclesfield.

Bar Co-Owner Anthony Greaves explained: "It was really important for us to support local and especially on cask."

"On tap, we have Inception and their New England / Hazy called Massachusetts Ski Club which is one of their rotational bears that I really love.

"We've also got four of their bottles on the go including Creme Bearlee and Bluebeary.

"We're open seven days a week, and hope to open an outdoor area later in the year."

There are lots of German beers, but also top sellers such as Guinness and Camden Hells.

With just about every bar in Congleton serving Beartown, why not hop on a bus to Macc and soak in your favourite beer with some new scenery?

Beartown Brewery have been counted for comment about their new client.
