Twenty-year-old man believed to have sustained minor injuries after a tree fell on a motorcyclist in Congleton

A 20-year-old man is believed to have sustained minor injuries after a tree had fallen onto a motorcyclist this morning (Tuesday) in Congleton.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At around 8am police were called to reports of a collision on Manchester Road, Congleton.

"On arrival officers found that a tree had fallen onto a motorcyclist.

"The rider of the motorbike, a 20-year-old man from Newcastle under Lyme, is believed to have sustained minor injuries.

"He has been taken to hospital for a full assessment."

The road was closed while officers dealt with the incident, although the closure has now been lifted.
