'True community gem' - Congleton Paddling Pool opens for the summer

A 'community gem' is back open.
Congleton Paddling Pool opened for the summer season on Saturday (May 24).
The pool has been a favourite with families since the 1930s and will once again offer free, safe, fun for children aged 11 and under until the end of August.
Councillor Robert Brittain, the newly elected Town Mayor of Congleton, said: "The paddling pool is a true community gem that brings joy to hundreds of children and families every summer.
"It's a place where memories are made – and the fact that it remains completely free and accessible to all is something Congleton is incredibly proud of."

During term time, the pool is open Wednesday to Sunday.
Opening is extended to seven days a week during school holidays.
There are two sessions each day, 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm.
No booking is required for either of the general public sessions, with free entry on a first-come, first-served basis.
There is a maximum capacity of 140 people per session and once the pool reaches capacity, visitors will be asked to wait until space becomes available.
Furthermore, in partnership with Ruby's, the pool will once again host exclusive SEND sessions for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
These will take place from 10am to 1pm every Wednesday during the summer holidays - July 23, July 30, August 6, August 13 and August 20.
Spaces are limited and tickets are free, released online by Ruby's each Monday at 7pm for that week's session.
