Local physiotherapist Dr Chris Norris who heads Norris Health on Lawton Street, Congleton has a new book out.

Called Back Rehabilitation – core stability re-examined, and produced by Routledge publishers the book is the culmination of many years work.

Chris explained: "The book began life as a series of five in-depth articles I wrote for the professional physiotherapy journal back in 1995.

"The articles were put together into a resource pack for physios by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists, the professional body representing physios in the UK.

"I wrote the articles as I had been teaching a course on Back Rehabilitation for some time and I combined this experience into the first edition of the book which came out in 2000, titled Back Stability.

"The book became very popular in both the UK and USA and led to more teaching and research into this important area.

"Back Stability has been a core book on many therapy and exercise teaching courses over the years. So much so that I did my Doctorate (PhD) in this subject.

"The second edition of the book came out in 2008 and sold very well, and now for 2023 we have a new edition and a new title bringing in fresh information. "

Back Rehabilitation has 350 pages and 10 chapters and is full of colour photographs, line figures, tables, and graphs.

A popular feature of the book has been the use of colour boxes of "keypoints" and "definitions" which make reading and learning easier, said Chris.

The book is priced at £36.99 and is available through popular online retailers and larger high street bookstores.
