Everybody Health & Leisure have invested in self-testing blood pressure machines, offering this service for free, across multiple centres in Cheshire East.

Everybody Health & Leisure are a registered charity which aims to provide 'leisure for life' by improving the health and wellbeing of local communities.

The charity operates 16 leisure facilities including 9 swimming pools and 7 Taste for Life cafes across the Cheshire East region, and delivers a range of targeted health, sports and disability and inclusion programmes. For more information please visit: www.everybody.org.uk or follow on Facebook @EverybodyHealthLeisure and Instagram @ebleisure.

Now, the opportunity to check your own blood pressure is available on a self-screening blood pressure machine at Holmes Chapel Community Centre, Congleton Leisure Centre, Crewe Lifestyle Centre and Macclesfield Leisure Centre - all operated by Everybody Health & Leisure.

There is no need to book; you can just turn up during facility opening hours to check your own blood pressure. Please be aware blood pressure checks are for 18 years and above.

Donna Williamson, Senior Health Innovation Manager at Everybody Health & Leisure shared: "We are proud to invest in self-testing blood pressure machines at our designated leisure facilities, to help detect and diagnose high blood pressure, known as hypertension. Hypertension is an important public health challenge because of its high prevalence and the associated risk of cardiovascular disease.

"By providing blood pressure machines, we offer the community an opportunity to self-monitor their own blood pressure and free of charge. Having a quick test is the only way to find out what your blood pressure is and it could save your life!"

Everybody take part in Blood Pressure UK's Know Your Numbers annual health campaign, where staff and the community can access free blood pressure checks during the week of the campaign. This investment by Everybody will allow people to self-care and take out tests on themselves, consistently throughout the year.
