A prolific thief from Crewe has been banned from entering 14 convenience stores across in the local area. as part of efforts to tackle his offending.

Ian McIntyre was handed the two-year order at Chester Magistrates' Court on Thursday 2 May, following multiple incidents of shoplifting across Crewe and the surrounding areas.

As a result, the 45-year-old, of no fixed address but of Crewe, has been banned from entering the Grand Junction Retail Park area of Crewe (shown on map one) and the area of Crewe town centre (map two).

He is also banned from entering the following stores:

1. Asda Express, Bradfield Road
2. B&Q store on Weston Road
3. Co-op Food, Parkers Road
4. Co-op Food, Readesdale Avenue,
5. Co-op Food, Remer Street
6. McColl's, Badger Avenue
7. The Post Office, West Street
8. Morrisons Daily - Queens Park, Victoria Avenue
9. B & M, Beam Heath Way, Nantwich
10. Sainsbury's, Middlewich Road, Nantwich
11. Co-op Food, Crewe Road, Haslington
12. Co-op Food, Beechwood Close, Stapeley
13. West Heath Shopping Centre on Holmes Chapel Road, Congleton
14. Euro Garages, Jack Mills Way, Shavington

As part of order, he has also been banned from having open vessels of alcohol in a public place.

If he fails to comply with the CBO, McIntyre will be committing a criminal offence which may result in a recall to prison or fine.

Police Constable, Justin Taylor, of Crewe Local Policing Unit, said: "Ian McIntyre has been a persistent problem for local businesses across Crewe.

"I am very thankful that the courts have recognised the hard work of our Beat Team, leading to him being issued with this Criminal Behaviour Order.

"I hope the granting of this CBO can provide some reassurance to local retailers and residents that we are doing all we can to deter anti-social behaviour and criminality like this from occurring in our town.

"McIntyre is under the order until 2 May 2026 and if he fails to comply, he could face imprisonment."
