Rotary-Congleton's Young Photographer Exhibition to return to Congleton Library over Christmas.

Judges had a complex task picking the winners from the 95 entries received from Congleton Schools for the Rotary Young Photographer competition, earlier.

The exhibition in the Library will open on Saturday, December 16 and will run until January 13. Winners will be displayed at the front of the Library, while all the remaining entries will be on show in the children's section, as in previous years.

This year, the theme was " Building in Harmony with Nature." giving the entrants from 7 to 17 in three age groups, the opportunity to demonstrate their creativity in the Autumn days around town as well as further afield.

The judges were: Harriette Wharfe, accomplished local photographer whose Facebook site, 'Sights of Congleton' features her creative take on local building and architecture, often photographed in the evening light. Chris Hunt is a renowned local photographer with a reputation for a diverse range of the highest quality images, and John Gauld, Rotary-Congleton's marketing officer and an award-winning photographer, specialising in architecture and interiors.

The winners will be announced later and prizes presented in school, where the winners will receive vouchers, a certificate and a professionally printed copy of their photograph. Every entrant will receive a certificate and a copy of their photograph.

The competition is organised by Rtn. Cath Brown as part of Rotary's Youth programme, run by Rtn. Eric Westwood.
