Stockport's Robinsons brewery has announced that its Unicorn pub in Congleton has re-opened following a complete renovation.

Robinsons describes the pub's new look as "a perfect combination between sports-focused entertainment and a welcoming family-friendly environment".

As well as a resized bar, open plan space and industrial-inspired decor, there is also a dedicated sports room boasting its own bar.

The Unicorn is one of 250 pubs in the Robinsons estate.

William Robinson, joint managing director, said: "The Unicorn represents a true testament to our dedication to delivering unforgettable experiences to the community. We are delighted to give something back to the local community of Congleton.

"This refurbishment signifies our commitment to providing an exceptional pub that caters to both sports enthusiasts and families, fostering a sense of unity and belonging in the heart of Congleton."

Licensee John Maughan said: "After over 25 years as licensee at The Unicorn and over 35 years working at the pub, I am thrilled with its new look. The transformation has exceeded our expectations, breathing new life into the Unicorn.

"The refreshed ambiance creates more of a family-friendly environment, and the sports room looks incredible too! We're excited to welcome both our loyal customers and newcomers to the pub."
