Police are appealing for witnesses following a 'serious assault' in Congleton.

A young male was attacked on Rood Hill at around 7pm on Friday, January 31.

This happened near the bridge that meets Mountbatten Way.

Cheshire Police are now urging anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.

"We are appealing for information from anybody who would have witnessed this when driving or walking past," said a spokesperson for the force.

"Please contact us via quoting IML 2021187 if you may be able to help, the investigation remains ongoing."
