Police renew appeal as elderly pedestrian dies after crash
An elderly pedestrian has died after a crash in Congleton.
Last month, Cheshire Police launched an appeal for information following a crash on Mill Street.
Today, December 23, police have confirmed that a 78-year-old man involved in the collision has since died in hospital.
Officers are now once again asking for any witnesses and anyone with video footage to come forward.
Emergency services were called to the scene, near Ableworld, at 11.38am on Wednesday, November 20.
Upon arrival, police found a red Kia Ce'ed had collided with an elderly man,
The man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital, where he later died.
Meanwhile, the driver of the car was uninjured.
Speaking at the time Detective Constable Nicola Rimmer, of the Serious Collision investigation Unit, said: "As part of our investigation we are keen to speak to the occupants of a blue Toyota Hilux which was driving on Mill Street at the time of the incident.
"The vehicle travelled from Mountbatten Way onto Mill Street and the occupants may be able to assist with our enquiries.
"I would urge the occupants of the car, or anyone else who witnessed the collision, to get in touch. The same goes for anyone with any dashcam footage which may aid our enquiries."
