POLICE are appealing for information after a "fail to stop" collision in Congleton.

Officers received a report that a pedestrian was involved in a collision with a white car on Rood Hill near to the traffic lights at 7.20pm on Sunday, December 19.

A 69-year-old local woman sustained minor injuries in the incident.

Police say the car failed to stop at the scene and turned left near to Tesco.

They are now appealing for anyone who may have dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.

PC Matt Turner said: "The injuries sustained by the woman could have been a lot worse and we are doing all we can to track down the person responsible.

"We want to hear from anyone who may have seen the white car or witnessed the collision.

"The same goes to anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage in the area around the time of the incident to submit this to us as it could help with our investigation."

Anyone with information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 1160030 or report it via the Cheshire Police website.

Information can also be passed on to Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111.
