Firefighters have been called to a fire in the loft of a house in Congleton.

Shortly before 4pm today (11th May), a fire engine from Congleton and Alsager arrived to a property in Harvey Road, Buglawton, Congleton.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Two firefighters using a hose reel jet have extinguished the fire.

"Crews are currently using a thermal imaging camera to monitor the temperature from the loft hatch and have used the hydraulic platform to gain access to the roof so they can remove tiles to check for fire spread."
