After a successful Kickstarter campaign earlier in the year, local children's author Nick Jones published his second children's picture book, One Night in Beartown, on 1st December.

Since then, Mr Jones has shipped or hand-delivered around 350 copies of the book.

"This includes around 250 pre-ordered copies that were secured via the Kickstarter campaign," said Mr Jones.

The book has been well received both on book review websites and by the people of Congleton.

American website Readers' Favourite described the book as "one of the best kids' books this year", while leading book blogger Linda Hill said it "deserves to be snapped up by a production company and turned into a Christmas tradition, along with those well-known animations of books by Raymond Briggs or Julia Donaldson."

One Night in Beartown is Nick's second book and is a magical tale that features a teddy bears' picnic with a difference in Congleton Park.

Nick Jones and illustrator Si Clark won several awards for their first collaboration Sarah's Shadow and hope to produce many more books together in the future.

To buy the book, visit the publisher's website or you can purchase it at Congleton Visitor Information Centre.
