Crafters and artists will be showing of their work at an event at Congleton Town Hall this weekend.

Artisanity is a new local organisation that was founded earlier this year with the aim of bringing together and supporting small local craft and art businesses.

It now has 80 members made up of talented people and has some exciting plans coming to fruition, starting with a summer fair on Sunday, (6 August) at the Town Hall from 10am to 3pm when members will showcase their products.

During the Fair there will be having craft demonstrations to highlight the skills involved and really put a spotlight on the quality and love that goes in to local handmade items.

There will be some live music to give a fun atmosphere and a raffle which rewards shoppers with a free ticket for every £5 spent at one of the 30 stalls.

On Friday, 18 August Artisanity will be having the official opening of its new shop at Glebe Farm, Congleton.

This is going to provide a physical location that members can use to sell through, demonstrate their skills (with regular meet the maker sessions) and hold craft workshops.

The shop will open with a group of 15 craft businesses but it is hopes to be able to extend the invitation to more once we see how the space works.

Check out Sunday's event and find out more about Artisanity on its Facebook page.
