Eco Icon Cong Bear handed out another of his awards today.

Friendly Faces Nursery, based at the Methodist Chapel on Derby Street, Congleton, received The Cong Bear Eco Seal Of Approval Award for their efforts to aid the environment.

The award has only been handed out three times so far, with this being the first one given to a nursery.

The children have helped Congleton In Bloom alongside Patti Pinto to achieve the Gold National Award, with their back-to-back garden and Wheelbarrow challenge.

They have also worked with Congleton's Food4Free and councillor Robert Moreton to set up an orchard and other new exciting projects this year.

They have also obtained their level 3 RHS award for their gardening learning and achievements.

The nursery is working towards becoming more eco-friendly by making small changes to daily practises whilst teaching the children how to grow, plants and enjoy their garden.
