The Friends of Congleton Park are looking forward to a second music concert as part of their continued celebrations of 150 years of Congleton Park.

This Sunday (1st August) from 2.30pm, the group of green-fingered volunteers will welcome The Encores.

The Encores are a 'great local four-piece group' who will provide two hours of popular foot tapping hits from the 50s and 60s including some instrumentals from The Shadow's repertoire.

The volunteers had around 200 people enjoy Roberts Bakery Brass Band a couple of weeks ago and this act are 'equally sure to wow the crowds'.

A Friends of Congleton Park spokesperson said: "The park continues to look fabulous at the moment and it will be great to hear The Encores adding to the experience."

Residents have been advised to bring their own chairs, but Friends of Congleton Park will have a supply to hire if required.
