First Aid training: Congleton residents and workers can learn to save lives

Residents and workers in Congleton can access a first aid training course in February.

Hosted by Springboard, the Cheshire-based learning partnership with hubs across the county, the training course is scheduled to take place on 15 February.

During this one day course, learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations. Topics covered include:

  • Legal framework / record keeping
  • Managing an emergency
  • Use of equipment / first aid box
  • CPR
  • Managing an unconscious casualty and / or in seizure
  • Choking – adult, baby and child
  • Personal hygiene procedures
  • Managing a bleeding casualty

The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. This includes carrying out a risk assessment, appointing a suitable amount of first aiders and providing appropriate first aid training.
