Fifty-eight vehicles were clocked speeding on a Congleton road yesterday (Tuesday).

PC Bell, armed with a hand-held enforceable speed gun, was monitoring traffic along Manchester Road (30mph speed limit), following safety concerns being raised by residents.

During the hour PC Bell was monitoring Manchester Road, 58 vehicles were caught speeding, with the highest being recorded at 50mph.

Congleton Police Officers are in week four of a six week Road Safety operation called #OpAssembles.

Speed checks will be commenced daily in hotspots all around Congleton and the surrounding areas. This is in response to concerns residents have about speeding.
