By Matthew Hancock-Bruce 24th Feb 2026
A farm's cafe has been left with 'no choice' but to shut down.
Le Cafe at Glebe Farm has served its final customers.
Owner, Ricardo Andrade, took to social media to announce the closure on Monday night, February 23.
He said: "After much thought and with a heavy heart, we want to share that Le Cafe at Glebe Farm has closed its doors.
"This has not been an easy decision, but unfortunately we have had no choice but to close."
He continued: "I, Ricardo would like to personally thank each and every one of you for your incredible support over the years.
"The loyalty, kindness and community spirit shown by the people of Congleton has meant more than words can express.
"Le Cafe has been more than just a café - it's been a place of friendships, conversations, and shared moments.
"We are so grateful to have been part of this wonderful community.
"Thank you, Congleton, for supporting us, visiting us, and making Le Cafe what it was."
Dozens of people responded to the post, sharing memories and wishing Ricardo and the team well.
Among those to leave a comment was Bear Grills, a cafe on Market Street in Congleton.
"That's really sad news to hear," reads the comment.
"Running a café isn't just opening the doors and serving coffee - it's early mornings, late nights, missed weekends and events, and pouring your heart into something that becomes part of who you are.
"It's more than a business… it's your passion, your family, your life.
"Wishing you all the very best for whatever comes next guys.
"Respect for everything you built and the memories you created for thousands of people."
