Developers have been issued with a notice relating to the 'noise and hours of working' at the the Briggs Way construction site, Congleton.
The construction of 94 new homes, off Manchester Road, has already begun, but concerns have been raised about the working hours at the site.
A Cheshire East Council spokesperson confirmed that the developers have been issued with a 'COPA' notice.
The spokesman told Nub News: "We can confirm that a statutory notice has been served under the Control of Pollution Act 1974, in connection with noise and hours of working at a construction site, known as Biggs Way, off Manchester Road, Congleton.
"The notice was served on Trafford Housing Trust, as landowners. A copy of the notice was also sent to the developers, Seddon Construction.
"Trafford Housing Trust has indicated to the council that they will ensure the notice is adhered to.
"As this is an ongoing investigation, the council cannot make any further comment at this stage."
The notice follows a social media post by a resident who stated: "This has been a real struggle since October last year.
"We have had loud water pumps running 24/7 causing lots of distress and sleepless nights."
