Congleton: Woman arrested after assaulting 74-year-old man

A 30-year-old woman was arrested for assaulting an elderly gentleman in Congleton on Easter Sunday.

At 9.23pm on 12th April, police were informed of an assault on a 74-year-old man at an address in Howarth Avenue, Congleton.

The assault is believed to have happened earlier on in the day and the victim was taken to hospital to be assessed as a precaution.

The woman was later released without charge.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "The two are known to each other and advice was given."
