24th Jun 2022 | Local News
A small street in Congleton will be shut on Sunday.
Kinsey Street, which has the side police car entrance to Congleton Police Station, will not be able to turn into from Moutbatten Way, or accessed by Park Street.
The road closure is due to key water works needed.
But if you live near you could still be able to get through.
"In a statement, Cheshire East Council said. "The alternative route 1 will be via the following streets: - Kinsey Street, Lawton Street, Moor Street, Moor Street Roundabout, Mountbatten Way
"The alternative route 2 will be via the following streets: - Mountbatten Way, Market Street, High Street, Market Square
"Pedestrian access to any premises situated within the temporary closure will be maintained at all times.
"Vehicular access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and residents where possible.
"The closure is necessary for works to be carried out by United Utilities.
"It is anticipated that the works will take place on Sunday 26th June 2022 only."
If you're getting out of that part of town, Congleton Nub News would recommend of all routes to head towards the traffic lights at Lawton Street to safely complete the diversion.
