Congleton High School's students were invited to add a Christmas item to their uniform for their Christmas Jumper Day on Friday (11 December).

In return, students were asked to bring a donation for their chosen charities this year - Brake (in memory of Georgia Ogden), British Heart Foundation (in memory of Lucy Minshull) and the NSPCC.

A spokesperson for Congleton High School said: "We were not disappointed and our imaginative students treated us to an array of festive jumpers, t-shirts, hats, masks and more!

"It was definitely a bright, festive and very effective way of fundraising and keeping warm with all our open windows!

"Once again we were overwhelmed by the generosity of our students, parents and carers, who donated over £100 on the day.

"This will be split between the three charities. We are very aware that the current circumstances mean that many families are struggling at the moment, so while we are always exceedingly grateful for all charity contributions, these donations are appreciated even more this year."
