Last night, 7 April 2024, a fire broke out on Congleton's Royle Street.

At approximately 10:30pm, firefighters from three local stations attended a blaze on Royle Street, Congleton.

Three fire engines attended, one each from Congleton, Holmes Chapel and Sandbach

No casualties were reported, but it is believed that the blaze was started deliberately.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Services said: "A fire involving a caravan is believed to have been started deliberately.

"Firefighters in breathing apparatus tackled the blaze and, once the flames were extinguished, used a thermal imaging camera to check for any hotspots that could reignite. No casualties or injuries were reported and crews were at the scene for around 90 minutes."
